چکیده مقاله:
In this paper, a single-ended fault location method is presented based on a circuit breaker operation using the frequencies of traveling waves. The proposed method receives the required data from voltage traveling waves with the aid of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Wavelet Transform. Then, the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) identifies fault type and determines its location. In order to evaluate the proposed method, numerous simulations are done by varying parameters including fault resistance, fault inception angle, fault location, the presence of noise in waves, different sampling frequencies, and the different structures of the power system in PSCAD/EMTDC software. Then using the matrix data obtained from voltage signals, the training process of the proposed algorithm is implemented in MATLAB environment software. The given results show the acceptable accuracy of the proposed technique in the classification of fault type and determination of fault location comparing previous studies. Also, the maximum error of the proposed method is 1.29 percent, which is the robustness of the proposed scheme is higher than previous works in different situations that may affect the fault identification process.

متن کاملInfluence of the Line Parameters in Transmission Line Fault Location
In the paper, two fault location algorithms are presented for transmission lines which use the line parameters to estimate the distance to the fault. The first algorithm uses only the measurements from one end of the line and the positive and zero sequence parameters of the line, while the second one uses the measurements from both ends of the line and only the positive sequence parameters of t...

متن کاملFault Location Using the Distributed Parameter Transmission Line Model
Earlier work at Texas A&M University led to the development of transmission line fault location algorithms that were based on synchronized sampling of the voltage and current data from the two ends of the line. The line models used in the algorithms were based on lumped parameter models for electrically short lines, or lossless distributed parameter models for electrically long lines. In this p...
متن کاملWavelet Based Analysis for Transmission Line Fault Location
Abstract This paper presents wavelet based analysis for transmission line fault location. Faults in power transmission lines cause transients that travel at a speed close to the speed of light and propagate along the line as traveling waves (TWs). Traveling wave theory is utilized in capturing the travel time of the transients along the monitored lines between the fault point and the protective...
